For 25 years, Kimm and I built something most people only dream about.

A design studio. Our own. Run from a 200-year-old home we renovated ourselves on a historic mountainside in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Fortune 100 clients. Global agencies. Work we were proud of. A life that, from the outside, looked exactly like success.

And then I got greedy. Not with money — with impact. I wanted more. More reach. More freedom. More of everything. So I started layering. A second venture. Then a third. Cognitive-based marketing. AI-powered enterprise software. Each one born from a genuine belief that this would be the thing that finally created the freedom I was chasing.

What I built instead was a prison of my own design.

Sixteen-hour days. Six, sometimes seven days a week. I told myself it was for my family — for Kimm, for our five kids. But the truth I couldn't say out loud was that I was disappearing. From them. From myself. The man showing up in their lives wasn't the man they loved. He was exhausted, defensive, and slowly becoming a stranger to the people who mattered most.

I tried everything the marketing world told me to try. Every tactic. Every strategy. Every new thing that promised to be the answer. None of it worked — not because the tactics were wrong, but because I was. I was building on a foundation that wasn't aligned with who I actually was. And no amount of strategy fixes that.

Kimm saw it before I could. She always does.

At her resilient, patient, and loving encouragement — more times than I deserved — I finally stopped. Stopped building. Stopped pushing. Stopped performing a version of success that was costing me everything that actually mattered.

I got coaching. Real coaching. The kind that asks the hard questions and sits quietly while you find the honest answers. And in that process, something I hadn't felt in years came back — clarity. Not about what to do. About who I was. And once I could see that clearly, everything else became obvious.

The Golden Thread had been there the whole time. I just couldn't see it through the noise I'd created.

What came back into focus was the work I'd always done best — helping people translate who they truly are into something the world can recognize, value, and pay for. Thirty years of brand building. A lifetime of entrepreneurial wins and very costly mistakes. And now, finally, a mission I could build everything around.

I don't work with coaches because it seemed like a good market. I work with coaches because I've lived their exact story — the talent, the drive, and the complete inability to make my outside world reflect what I know is true on the inside.

Because I know what it costs to keep pushing without clarity. And because I know what becomes possible the moment you stop trying to sound like someone else and start building everything around the one thing that was only ever yours.
